About Biogas Solutions Research Center

The Biogas Solutions Research Center is a competence center established to enhance society's ability to realize the significant sustainability potential of biogas solutions. We achieve this by collaboratively developing new knowledge with various societal actors that is relevant and of high scientific quality. National Competence Center

The Biogas Solutions Research Center (BSRC) is a national competence center aimed at creating a strong national knowledge base that leads to industrially and societally motivated research and development of biogas solutions. The center is hosted by Linköping University.

The Biogas Solutions Research Center (BSRC) works transdisciplinarily to create new knowledge through the intersection of various disciplines and between researchers and practitioners. The focus is on delivering knowledge, competence, international exchange, deepened collaboration between scientific disciplines and with practitioners, new solutions, and analyses of the contribution to sustainability transition to actors along the value chain, to the biogas sector, and to society at large.

Communication, networking, education, and internationalization are tools to achieve the center's vision, strategy, and goals of realizing the sustainability potential of biogas solutions.

Organization

BSRC is a competence center at Linköping University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).

BSRC is funded one-third by the Swedish Energy Agency, one-third by the academic partners Linköping University and SLU, and one-third by the participating partners from the business and public sectors. Participants from the business and public sectors not only contribute funding in the form of money but also with a significant investment of time and commitment. They actively participate in the research activities and have the opportunity to influence the operations and commercially utilize the results.

Researchers come from five research groups at Linköping University and four different research groups at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

Linköping University hosts the center. From the business and public sectors, there are approximately 50 partners and members.
